Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 2 ¹ 2, (1999) p.35-43
The results of acoustical tests of the Coloumn Hall named after M. V. Lysenko of the National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine are presented. The data were obtained describing the reverberation time, echo distribution over the area of the spectator places, energy parameters of the sound field, homogeneity of the sound field and the sound insulation of hall. The experience of reconstruction of both the building and hall of the Philharmonic Society shows that when one will abide by the basic demands of modern architectural acoustics and use modern construction materials and technology it is absolutely possible to preserve the acoustical properties of unique buildings of cultural and historical value.
