A harmonic vibrations of elastic half-space performing the rotational motion

Acoustic bulletin, Vol. 1 ¹ 2, (1998) p.73-79
The characteristics of harmonic wave propagation in the elastic half-space are considered as the extension of previous study conducted for the similar problem for totally unbounded body. The direct integration of motion equations yields the distributions for the dynamic displacements and stresses. The asymptotic formulas for low angular rotation velocities have been obtained. A particular case has been analyzed when the rotational velocity becomes equal to circular frequency of the waves. The obtained results may be useful for developing new types of gyroscopic sensors and for analyzing their operation.
